Feature Friday: Gorshroom

Hawaii is home to dozens of exotic species that aren’t found elsewhere in the world, but something tells me the Gorshroom isn’t from around here. With its ape-like body and distinctive knuckle-walking gait, no one would blame you if you mistook it for a gorilla. With that strange protuberance growing from the top of its head topped by a red and white cap, it’s easy to mistake the Gorshroom for a common fungus… but there’s nothing common about this fearsome foe. If you make it to the Kalapana zone, you’ll need to be extra careful not to get in the way of its dreaded spore-belch breath attack. Its nasty stench will be the least of your worries!
